Ren Clark

Ren joined WOPB in 2023, eager to support the mission as he has been a longtime advocate in the community for environmental protection and responsible development. His appreciation for the benefits of native flora and fauna and the ecosystems they serve continues to grow.  His more than 30 years in GIS and remote sensing took him around the world, working with universities, government agencies and farmers to promote and apply geospatial technology as a tool for the understanding and protection of ecosystems.  Ren and his wife Nancy, have a LA Certified Habitat, at the Gold level.  Elected to WOPB’s board of directors in 2023, Ren is currently involved in WOPB’s work group addressing Native Plant Rescues.  Ren’s skills and experience are proving to be invaluable for WOPB. Thank you, Ren!

Ren’s favorite:

Quercus virginiana, commonly known as southern live oak. “We planted two ‘babies’ on opposite sides of our backyard after Katrina. They’ve grown this much in the years since. Amazes how many critters they attract/support/connect.”
