Barbara Hargrove, Treasurer
Barbara is part of the initial driving force behind WOPB and is a founding member. She is a tireless promoter of native plant species and natural landscapes having been in the Folsom Native Plant Society and Louisiana Native Plant Society for many years. Her appreciation for the benefits of native flora and fauna and the ecosystems they serve continues to grow. She is always interested in sharing plants and seeds and enjoys participating in tabling events. Barbara volunteers with WOPB as it assists with the Louisiana Native Plant Society’s LA Certified Habitat Program and owns a Gold level LA Certified Habitat. WOPB’s first Treasurer, she was re-elected to the board of directors in 2023, Her goal is to hand off well organized and accurate records to future treasurers. Barbara’s skills and experience are proving invaluable for WOPB. Thank you, Barbara!

Cirsium horridulum, commonly known as yellow or purple thistle. “I have seen multiple bees and butterflies on one flower head at the same time! And not only is the flower pretty and popular with pollinators, but it also looks cool when it goes to seed.”
