Marsha volunteers regularly for WOPB events, including demonstration gardens, such as at Northshore Nature Center and Marigny Elementary School and is an active member of Pelican Park Nature Club. She is currently a St. Tammany Parish Master Gardener apprentice and plans to become a Louisiana Master Naturalist during the next available session. Marsha has degrees in science, including biology and has studied herbal/medicinal plants for over thirty years and is interested in soil health. She is an educator with experience in elementary and secondary home schooling.

“It is both beautiful and very functional. The leaves can be crushed and applied to the skin to repel mosquitoes. It also has herbal medicinal properties.”
